Come Home is a poem crafted in 2020 during my freshman year of college in Chicago. It explores themes of identity, fight or flight, and avoidance.

I altered the poem two years later to demonstrate that emotions are fleeting and the future is never promised. Two years after that I replaced the markups with heavy embroidery and beading. The heavy embroidery and beading that adorn the pages serve as symbols of resilience and growth. They represent the passage of time and the layers of experiences that shape us into who we are. As time passes, new layers of embroidery are added, reflecting the accumulation of experiences and memories. The act of embroidering becomes a metaphor for the process of growth and transformation, as we stitch together the fragments of our past to create a cohesive narrative of our present.
